Hello! These are my 2 new salmon faverolles who are just over 4 weeks old (Lilah and Lola, named after famous bearded ladies

). Anyway, the gentleman I got them from seemed very knowledgable about chickens and has a farm, but I wanted to double-tripple make sure these little lovelies are actually pullets! The reason I'm confused is because they have some darker peppering througout their feathers... not exactly black but more gray-ish I guess. They both look exactly the same so I don't have anything else to compare them with. It seems that the males get pretty dark feathers and the females are very light... mine seem in between? One definitely has a very white/cream chest and the other has a little bit of peppering. Help! Thank you!

Here are their backs

Lilah's chest... mostly cream

Lola's chest has a little brown/gray peppering but still mostly cream

Both of their wings look identical, so I only took one pic. Little bits of gray on feathers.

I would wait for more feathers to come in on Lola. She could be a pullet, but I wouldn't rule out that she's a light colored cockerel just yet. There are black and white splotches on the wings. Faverolles cockerels can be very messy colorwise, almost looking calico.

Thought I would post an update for any other faverolles newbies out there! Both my chicks ended up as pullets! Yay! :)

congratulations! And thanks for the update, it's always nice to see how things turned out.
