We have two Fawn Duckwing Bantams and one lays white eggs and the other lays (she says) "pink" (I say) "tan" eggs.

Is this uncommon? What's normal for Duckwings? Just curious.

I don't know the standard on Old English, that's why I didn't answer immediately. [IMG]

But I do know that the same breed can lay different tinted eggs. My SLW will lay eggs ranging from nearly white to tan, and they are purebred.

Egg color naturally varies between individuals just like skin color does with people.

Thanks Ella, we've been wondering that and thinking we might have gotten a non-purebred (not that is really matters).

Just trying to "know" our birds heehee.

    Thanks,

I posted a similar question about Delawares and I got zero responses. I can't imagine that I am the only one who has Delawares!! I have determined that one lays plain medium brown eggs and the other one lays noticably dark brown eggs that often have dark speckles on one end. The eggs are very different in color.

My Delaware lays these tiny pink colored eggs. It figures our biggest chicken (at least until the giants show up) lays the smallest egg.

You can check egg colors for breeds here at Henderson's.
