Hello jtfever, a year later how is sandy doing? I have 2 chickens that are showing signs of egg coelomitis. I took them to 2 vets both very highly regarding in avian exotics. They said they can do surgery but they had yet to have a chicken live after it. I decided not to go through with it and let them live out their days until I’ll have to make the difficult decision to put them down. They gave me pain meds for them to keep them comfortable. I too love me chickens like you do. It is hard for people to understand how someone can love a chicken like we do. My chickens are my whole world too.
