Just got in a new batch of about 3doz. White Rocks. This brooder I made a few years ago from our old big satellite dish. A door was made in one side and a heat lamp hung from the center. The sheet metal tops I added to the feeders to keep you know what from dropping into the feed from above.

They all seem to be doing pretty good. Only one was DOA. So far......so good!

Rice hulls make up their underlayment.

great idea, I don't throw anything away either,lol, never know when it might be useful.

The heavy duty plastic that we used to wrap our brooder in came from a chicken processing plant when his mom worked there 20 years ago! I cursed that heay roll everytime I had to move it out of my way; but it came in handy!
