    This is our first chick from our first incubated batch of eggs from our first chickens. [​IMG]

    He hatched about 15 minutes ago. He's pretty lively -- it took him about 1 hour from pip to hatch, WAY faster than all the others, who have barely done more than pip in the last 15 hours or so.

    (I say 'he', but I've no idea of the sex)

    Dad was a Rhode Island Red, mom was a Buff Orpington.

    1 down, 26 to go.

    You really did get great shots!! Isn't the miracle of birth so well.... miraculous!!! I will never forget my first chick from my first hatch. Pocahontas was her name a Welsummer!! Congratulations!! She's a beauty. [​IMG]

    Congrats! The first chick hatched from every batch of eggs I have ever set is a cockeral. "He" may very well be correct. LOL

    Those are great photos! I have never incubated any eggs but that sure makes me want to! Congrats!
