my ameraucana has two warty scabby like growths on one foot. one is on a toe, and one is on the ankle area. They are hard to the touch, and except when i tried to peel it off, they don't seem to bother the bird. There is no swelling, and the locations make me think it is not bumblefoot. There are no black spots underneath on the pads either. I dont think it is scaly leg mites based on pictures i've seen. other than those two small spots, the legs look healthy, and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the hen. any ideas? thanks!

description sounds like pox, though usually there are bumps on the comb and wattles as well....

Anyone else have any suggestions? They look like they are growing from under the scales, not over them??

so does it look like there is something under the scales? If so, are the scales at all loose-looking or kind of shriveled? My guess would be scale mites if that's the case.

no it doesnt look like something is under the scales. from the pictures i've seen, this looks nothing like scale mites. just a hard growth.
