Hi, I am new to this board, and new to keeping hens. Any help would be very welcome as it is all a bit scary at the moment! One of our hens has lumps on her feet and legs, she also appeared to be moulting a few weeks ago, even though she is only 9 months old, but that seems to have stopped now. But she does look very scruffy and seems to have lost weight. I am assuming she has scaly leg mite, so have sprayed her legs. Could the other symptoms suggest something else is wrong? Is the spray the best thing for scaly leg mites? Are the other hens likely to catch it? Thanks in advance for any responses

Look her over carefully for lice or mites. That can cause a "scruffy" appearance if she has them bad enough.
