I have read in the forum (and I am very new to chickens with 4-1/2 week chicks that are being moved out of house to coop) that deep litter (will be using pine shavings) is good. How much should I use for my little chicks? Someone also mentioned "DE" and I do not know what that is. I need help please. Thanks so much.

If you need to find a distributor google Perma Gaurd and you can email the company to find someone in your area.

I keep adding the pine shavings with some FOOD GRADE DE sprinkled in until I have 4/6 inches.
