Screech Mouse vanished awhile back and I figured the hawk got her but she showed up for breakfast a few days ago. Then she was gone again so I figured she had a nest somewhere. She did,, under the house! She brought out her one tiny brand new baby this morning. It is smaller than a Cortunix Quail baby. Screech is the tiniest hen I've ever seen and her baby is even smaller than she was when hatched. She's dedicated loving mommy and her babies daddy is obviously Goldie my huge Turken roo that is her man. The baby is a Turken!

Is Screech Mouse the tiny surprise baby you found out in the pen one day? She's a cutie!
Congrats on the new baby! [IMG]

Congrats to your little hen. I have a big Buff Orp hen whose babies were hatched yesterday. She is just as happy as she can be, even if it is in the 20's outside with blowing snow. Silly girl, but I couldn't refuse her. This is my Nugget; she's always been a great mama.

She's a doll, a very beautiful hen! They sure pick odd times to hatch eggs!

How cute! There have been many cases of a hen disappearing and then returning with a little bundle of joy (or more!) Congrats!
