I'm new to chickens. Got some beautiful free birds from a lovely fellow. This gal fits the bill of seabright... loud squawk and really chatty, can fly really well, kinda skittish, small...
    What do you think?

How big is she second hen? She could maybe be and Old English Bantam? :)

First one is probably a Campine or Campine mix. Second one is like an Old English Game bantam or OEGB mix.

    That's what I"m thinking also.

What's up with the first bird's legs? Scaly mites? they look pretty funky. Might want to take a look and probably treat your entire flock.

You don't have to goggle anything . You belong to Backyard chickens. Just put "Scaly leg mites," in the search box above and it will come up with several items. Her legs do look bad.

Thank you for noticing this and for mentioning it. I picked up products to treat the birds.
