I ordered a pair of Sebastopol geese a few months back. The came from a commercial fowl producer, and I waited for them FOREVER, but they finally got here. They are 2 1/2 months old now, fully feathered (except for their wings). They are terribly sweet natured, and beautiful, except for their wings. Their wings seem to be too heavy for them to hold up and they keep "hitching" up their wings like an old man hitches up his drooping pants. Their wings seem, also, to be extra long, and they act like there is simply not enough room for them to be comfortable in a "normal" position?????? Is this normal?

Thanks,

The flight feathers are growing in and are full of blood and very heavy. They need to be outside grazing all day where they can exercise the wings and strengthen them. As the blood recedes they will be able to tuck them back into a normal position. Low protien feed and all the grazing time they want during the day is vital part of the their diet.
