Well we woke up this morning to find our second dead chicken. The first was a few months ago and she was wheezing. Some thought it was pneumonia. Nothing else happened for sometime. Everyone was happy and healthy. Last night my wife noticed the one buff looking tired. She could hardly keep her eyes open sitting on the roost. I just thought she must be tired and enjoying the dip in temperature.

Her comb was pale in color but didn't look bad. Her legs were a light yellow color. I thought she was just not laying. She is 2 1/2 years old. No wheezing, No sneezing, No cough, and eating the morning before (vegies).
Was she just old? Or am I missing something.

I have not wormed the chickens. Maybe she has worms and became anemic?

I have never been one to worm my chickens before, but after reading on this forum about all of the trouble chickens have fighting off diseases, I will worm all of mine later this month. Chickens will just die suddenly without a lot of warning signs. You might get some Tylan50 just to keep around in case any would show respiratory symptoms in the future.
