Secondhand Paint: Anything *not* to use inside coop?

Hi all! We have a Habitat for Humanity Restore not too far from us that has great prices on paint. I don't know how old the paint is - any hints on how to tell if it is *not* safe for chickens?

(The forum search is in a very strange format for me, so if you know of any threads on this would you link them here?)

I think as long as you use an outdoor paint and make sure it dries completely before the chickens go in their house (no fumes left) they should be fine.
