so I put my chicken eggs in the incubator on the 13th of January, I’m on day 17 and it seems like the chicks are on day 16 development rather than day 17, and I was wondering if it would be safe to delay lockdown until day 19, to make sure that they don’t need to be turned anymore? I’ve candled the eggs, all alive and kicking, but I don’t want to potentially harm them.

Eggs don't need to be turned after day fourteen. I wouldn't worry about hurting them.

I have never had an egg hatch on day eighteen, or even day nineteen, so I've never found it advantageous to have an early lockdown, either.

I am pretty sure your good! I stopped turning my quail accidently a day early and they survived, idk if its the same with chickens though

Stay with the normal hatch schedule and drive on. The more you mess with them the chances are greater to do harm. Just sit back, hold the schedule and let nature take its course.
