I just hatched my chicks out and someone wants them. These are just backyard chicks from a neighbor , barred rocks. What are they worth? Are they worth any more because they were incubated and started right away? We can't buy chicks here. The nearest chicks store is 100 miles away.

That is a good question... Check Craigslist in your area and find out what local feed stores charge then go from there is what I would do.

I would expect to pay a bit more for started birds (past the brooder stage), but that's just me.

Just about all chicks around here sell for $2.50 each. We have a small animal auction here and that's the going price. Now if there happens to be a breed somebody wants it will sell for more. I saw a Wellsummer hen and 8 chicks sell for $30. The thing is you sell whatever cage the chickens are with the chicks. I almost bought a pheasant cuz of the cage. [IMG]
