a friend of mine suggested that when my hens start laying that I could sell my eggs at the local farmers market. Has anyone done that before?

Also, is there somewhere to see what the requirements are to call them organic?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm not sure if you are allowed to sell eggs or not. To be called organic, they have to be inspected as well as the feed.

Organic is hard to achieve. Your land has to be chemical free for at least 3 yrs from what i understand. Just sell them as "Farm Fresh" and you will be ok.

Thanks! yeah, there is no way I can be organic, I have only lived here 8 mo. and I rent. Plus we are having a big scorpion problem and we are going to have to spray for them. I can't risk my kids getting bit. I am not going to spray near the run or coop. I use DE there but since my son found one in his toy box we have to do something!
