Hello!
My Serama chicks are 5 days old and there is one that is highly aggressive. He has pecked at one of the Serama chicks eye so much it is bleeding. He goes around ripping the feather from the other chicks heads. What should I do??

Is this normal. My silkie chicks were never like that! So sweet with each other.

Sometimes there's a bully, they will sometimes grow out of it, boredom can be one reason for it, so provide perches or things to climb on or go under, or even some lettuce leaves or when available a chunk of sod to pick at, too much heat, too much light, if you are using a light switching to a red bulb can help. I find most bully chicks end up being roosters, sometimes you can try separating the bully with wire for a few days too.

I had a Easter Egger chick that was mean to the others and then eventually it started pecking at me too. So I ended up having to get rid of it.
