    Hello BackYard Chicken keepers,

I have a few question about seramas and was hoping that some of you might be able to answer them:

    1. How long do the eggs take to hatch?

    2. Can you hatch them with bigger eggs?

    3. Can they be hatched under a bigger hen (specifically a Wyandotte cross)?

    4. Will the chicks be able to survive with a flock of larger birds?

    Thank you!

I hatched 3 serama eggs with my standard flock with success. I incubated them and they took 21 days to hatch. My three seramas are currently in a brooder with 4 standards and are doing well. I have currently have 3 bantams among my flock of standards without any issues. I am praying that my seramas will join my flock smoothly with the others.

I don't have Seramas yet, but I'm getting three next week, but I have done a lot of researcher on them.
    1. They do hatch in 19 days or more,
    2. You can hatch them with other eggs, you just need to make sure that the other chicks don't bully them.
    3. The eggs are much smaller and might break, if you try to hatch them under a bigger hen.
    4. I am building another coop for the Seramas, but you might be able to.

So if I were to set them 1 or 2 days after the bigger eggs, they would hatch around the same time?

19 days to hatch is most common but anywhere up to 21.

Yes a standard could sit on the eggs but youd have to make sure shes a good sitter so she dosent accidently crush them. Large fowl eggs could also be added just start them 2 days before the serama that way they hatch on the same day.

I also have a few serama in my flock of standards they do great.

Yes standard and serama chicks cam be raised togther
