I have 3 Serama hens. They were laying somewhat consistently (I saw each in the box now and again). A week or two ago, one went broody. She was too difficult to break (the other two did the same thing, but one or two tosses off the nest was enough to break them), so I just stuck a couple eggs under her from a local breeder. At about the same time she went broody, I stopped getting Serama eggs. The other two aren't acting broody at all, and I know they were laying in addition to her. There aren't any others in that coop laying yet (many are close at 19 weeks), so I can't say if it's affecting all of them or not. They get organic food, good scraps, and DE regularly. I don't notice any moulting, beyond the feathers Mama is leaving about her nest. Why stop laying??
