I have eggs in my incubator and today is the 18th day well I been having them on a rotator so I took them off and put them on the screen well to my horror I watched as one rolled from the top to the bottom, hitting the side with a *thump*...its not broke or nothing but could the chick be alive or should I toss it

At this point, day 18, there is no harm in leaving it.

ok the chick just hatched out on the WRONG end of the egg and the cord attached to the abdomen is really thick but the yolk is all absorbed...should I be worried or should I just leave it alone and the cord will absorb itself???

Usually the yolk will absorb completely after it hatches, but the umbilical cord will dry up and fall off. Do not cut it off or pull it, it needs to happen naturally. I had a chick hatch backwards last year and she had some seriously messed up legs. I was quick enough, luckily, and was able to straighten them out, and now she is as normal as can be. Just keep an eye on the baby, hopefully it will be okay. I'm not sure what the thick umbilical cord means, but I don't think that it would be a problem. Hopefully I'm not wrong. Congrats on the babies.
