If I take a RIR hen and a Delaware rooster will I get a amber link hybrid?

I have red sex link and black sex link already but I wanna try to breed my own amber links. So do I use a white rooster with a RIR hen?

You have to breed a red gened rooster to a silver gened hen.

Michael o'shay can explain it better than I can.

But if I breed a red gene rooster to a silver gene hen I'll end up with red sex link again.

I swear it was written the other way around, RIR male over a Del hen. And I even read it several times! I must be going senile already.
