Sex link question!

I have some cuckoo maran hens and was wondering if I put my Welsummer rooster over them will the offspring be sexlink? Also will the eggs still stay dark brown from the offspring?

The eggs will stay dark, but the sexlink gene must have the barring in the rooster to work. You can try it, good luck.

The eggs won't necessarily stay dark.
I crossed my extremely dark laying welsummer hen with a penedesenca rooster out of an extremely dark laying line and the offsprings' eggs weren't dark at all. They were about the color of a rock, orp or JG egg.

Genetics of egg color are more complicated than some think. It isn't one gene or pigment. There are several and the genes can cancel each other out.
