    If a silver based hens chicks that have her color pattern are suppose to be cocks, would this hold true if she was a hybrid.

    If she has silver and not gold and the rooster is pure for gold, you have met 50% of the requirements for red sex links. The other requirement is that you be able to see the difference in the down at hatch. Sometimes that difference is really easy to see, sometimes it’s possible but harder to see, and sometimes it is impossible to see. I don’t know what rooster you used or the genetics of that hen so I cannot say yes or no for sure.

    Another possible issue with a hybrid is that you can get chicks from her and even a purebred rooster that look different. That may make it harder to tell the difference in red and yellow down.
