Hey everyone my Buff Orpingtons are 8 weeks old today and I was wondering if you could kindly help me with sexing them. I am 99.9% sure I have one roo and another one looks suspicious to me. Tell me what you think!

3 (I'd be very shocked if this one is a pullet)

5 (This one I'm not sure. She/He doesn't look as rooish as the other one above and has always matured faster than the others.)

3 looks like a cockerel for sure... I'm not sure about 5 either. The others look like pullets.

x2. They will be beautiful birds. Kind of regretting getting an assortment instead of an entire flock of buff orps.

Thank you both for your replies! These are our first chickens and we just love them! They are so friendly and sweet.

    have you ever "vent sexed"?
It's pretty simple with an extra set of hands......youtube it and you'll be a PRO in no time!

I thought vent sexing was only for when they are really young?

That's right. Vent sexing should only be done on chicks that are 1-3 days old. If you do it when they are older you risk damaging their sex organs.
