I've got two, and at first I thought they were both girls, but one has turned way aggressive and I heard it crowing this morning. [IMG] I've heard that sometimes girls crow? They are around 8 weeks(ish)

Fluff (look at the nasty look in 'her' eye! This is the sweet chick gone mean.) She's my 'lead' hen.

    And Lulu (I think hen)

    Thanks for the help!

You know they are not pure Ameraucana's, right? [IMG] It's a pretty hot topic here: Ameraucana's vs EE's.

    First one's definitely a boy 100%
    I'll say pullet on #2.

    first is an EE cockeral
and the second looks girly but that comb looks way too red for an 8wk old [IMG] (unless it's just the pic [IMG] ) , I would wait....

Quote:[IMG] I didn't realize it was a hot topic. I don't really care, I just want happy chickens and blue eggs. [IMG] And it doesn't surprise me... all the other chicks I got from the same place turned out to not be what they told me they were. [IMG]

100% eh? I wouldn't mind, since it's turned into such a freakin' stinker, but my kids will be sad. (No roosters allowed as per city ordinance.)

and you may not get blue eggs from your EE hen. Most likely they'll be green, but could also be brown, since EEs are mixed breeds.

[IMG] for blue eggs from your white pullet!

    Yeah, soooo roo for #1.
#2 Looks pullet to me. The comb is just so minimal.

Seems like EEs are hard to sex early on. I had 2 in my first batch and 1 has ended up being a boy. My pullet is way more obnoxious, so far anyway, than the boy.
