Sex of 7 week Maran

    This gal(hoping) will be 8 weeks on Friday. There is a small crest, but it is still pale, showing no signs of red. I'm hoping pullet. What does everyone else think?[​IMG]

    At this point I think it would be safe to call pullet.

    Some of those neck feathers look awfully 'fringy' to me. Not that most hens don't have a little fringe but they seem overly fringed, but it's right between focus and blur in the photographs, and the bird's color isn't helpful with that, lol. Any chance you could get a clearer pic of the neck feathering?

    We have a 6 week Blue Maran Roo that has a red comb. Based on the age of this bird, I say Pullet!
