The 4 Dutch Bantams are 4 weeks old and the Olandsk Dwarf is 5 weeks.

The adorable obvious cockerel is 6 weeks old and his egg came from someone who was selling eggs from the following breeds: Mille Fleur D'uccle, Dutch Bantam, Gold Sebright, and bantam Cochin. I'd love to hear guesses on what mix he might be.

All your little Dutch with the reddish breasts are guaranteed females. Males have black breasts. Your other one appears as a pullet also for same reason plus lack of comb.
Your cockerel is definitely part MF. No sebright for sure. Not seeing cochin. MF Xs dutch fits. With its pattern. Final answer.

No help with the information you're seeking but I just wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE Dutch Bantams. I've got 2 pullets and they're the most friendly and affectionate birds towards humans. They amaze me every day with how affectionate they are. They've always been sweet but after they started laying, they seem to be growing closer to me. I wish you the best with all of your gorgeous and amazing chicks!

I was thinking the same, but I couldn't remember whether the black breasts showed up in the first chick feathers, or if they had to molt a time or two before the black would appear.

Of course all those pale little combs are a good indication too, but gender-specific coloring definitely makes sexing chicks easier!

It comes in with first set of feathers. Usually around 3 to 4 weeks. Sometimes the males black will have a little color mixed in until a few molts later when they become solid.
Love duckwing pattern for easy sexing.

I was thinking my suspicions were too good to be true but it sounds like I finally had some good luck for once! The little cockerel doesn't crow yet but for the last couple weeks now he's already acting like the protector of his tiny flock. If he is brave enough to do something new, the rest of them then follow along behind him. It's so cute.
