Sex of Lavender Araucana chick - pics

    Hi this is my 4 1/2 week old Lavender Araucuna (british breed standard therefore not rumpless), anyone want to hazard a guess a sex? I'm praying for Pullet though she's quite a dominant bird and will be a handful as she's grows up! Though this may be because she's spoilt! [​IMG] She was the only successful hatch from 6 eggs!

    At this point, I would say pullet just from the comb and feathering. I would still wait and see in another month or two.

    bloody hard to say with lav arau EU type at that age, I think you need to come back in 4 to 6 weeks ,but looking at the eye id say its a lady [​IMG]

    for right now it looks like a girl. Might have to wait a bit longer for more obvious features

    Looks like a pullet. I have two araucanas the same age as yours, and one has a much larger and redder comb than yours.

    I agree, not so much cartilage at the base of the beak, in front of the comb, more of a girlie shaped beak. Boy beaks often look more hawklike.
