These polish are around 5 and a half to 6 months and were sold to me as hens. No eggs yet but was wondering if anyone could tell which they were.

Claudia or Claude? Claude....he tried to mount a hen yesterday.

I think 3 boys. The top hat is all wild like a rooster.

I'm sorry, but Claudia looks like a Claude, Josephine is Jose, and Henrietta is Henry...

    Look at these pictures: http://www.cacklehatchery.com/polishpage.html#gold

    My
19 week old golden crested polish has sickle feather, saddle feather, and the crazy head feathers, and his face is clean with no red. I know he is a roo, but he has not crowed (other dominate rooster present).

Someone said the male polish "has a punk rock thin haired wild hair doo".
The female has a "manicured afro like full head dress".

There are more if you seach.

Good Luck and I hope you get what you want!

This is what I was fearing...I was hoping maybe they were inferior birds and did not have good head plumage. I am new to chickens and have no clue how to tell by the body feathers either. I don't see any signs of red on their beak/comb area yet so I guess I'll keep hoping against hope. The feed store where I got them said I could bring them back if they did turn out to be roosters. I'll have to as they are three of the five chickens that I have!

Yay! I am happy for you! The verdict is still out on all three of mine. I feel like for sure one is a roo (Claude) - lots of red on head and very much forward acting) but I keep going back and forth on the other two. I hope only the one is although I am stuck with him most likely cause he is so sweet and funny...My luck.

All 3 of those look like boys to me, too, although I also thought Carpe DiHen's was a boy, too.

If those are not mixed breeds, then I still think they are boys.

This is what a hen's crest usually looks like:

I will try for some updated pics tomorrow. I had cut their feathers so they could see after they had gotten rained on and now they have grown out so maybe that will help.
