Sex of White Leghorn

There are also behavioral clues. The roosters will be fighting each other and doing the mating dance. The hens should be showing butt feathers as their hips widen. The hens and roosters also use different sets of vocalizations, although there is some overlap. At 14 the roosters should be crowing already..

This is not a Tj's egg. This is a fertile egg from a friend. Unsure of breed. Has a bit of black on one row of feathers

This is the sibling to my last post. Not tjs
Not obvious cockerels yet, but there is still plenty of time. I don't say it's certain until the chicks are completely feathered. Unless a cockerel is blatantly obvious.

Isn't it had to tell on leghorns due to both having the red combs and waddles? I raise leghorns and usually can't tell for months, I have a roo I'm thinking may be a hen, no expert for sure but still enjoy the wait and see game with everyone guessing. Thanks if anyone knows how to sex them plz let me know.

It's more difficult to get a decent quality photo that shows feather details on solid colored birds. As far as combs, yes females do have large combs. But like any other breed, they don't start to turn red in the comb till they are almost ready to lay.

Didn't realize that I will have too remember that and watch them thanks so much.

These two are 1.5 weeks. Pretty positive they’re both leghorns. Thinking they’re both cocks by a wing sexing article I found. Thoughts?
