Sex please

    Can any body give me a few pointers on sexing my baby chicks,can't seem to get pics on here so don't ask ,hehe , thanks nice byc people

    First thing I notice is the males start getting bigger redder combs and wattles. This is around the age of 4 weeks. Then the males in most breeds get their saddle feathers.

    Sexing most breeds of day old chicks is impossible without vent sexing.

    The advice given above is the right approach. At 5-6 weeks, the difference is usually quite apparent. The males will sprout red wattles and red combs while the pullets will not sprout wattles and their small combs will usually remain quite yellow.

    I feather sexed my leghorn chicks and it seemed to work. I also do a few wives tales for guessing.
