Sex these Sumatra!

No spur bumps....hatched in June or July. Very friendly. I'm hoping for hens because then I'll have a three hens & one roo (and two more roos for sale!)

has me puzzled... kinda looks like a hen. but the long tail feathers, if i could see the hackles (neck feathers) or saddles (feathers before the tail) could be abl to tell easier,

On both birds or just on one of them? I know--they don't have the saddle feathers, really or the hackle feathers because they beat up on each other...LOL

which reminds me--I should post a pic of the one I KNOW is a rooster. His tail is almost dragging the ground! And he looks like the "classic" sumatras....

In addition, these usually move with their tails up....

Sumatras are slow to mature so it can be hard to be sure when they're young.
However, my advise is to keep two males not one. If you keep two & both are fine what are you out. If you keep only one & he dies what do you have?
