The following are Easter Egger x Lavender Ameracauna crosses, 6 weeks old. I can’t seem to put my finger on these babies in terms of gender. I’ve already culled out the males from this breeding group. The males had bright red pea combs and hints of wattles starting. I’ll post some reference photos.
These kids don’t have any real red/pink combs, but they have virtually no length in tail feathers in comparison to my other chicks. I’ve never done these EE x Ameracauna crosses so I realize that it’s possible some weird genetics are going on from these EE hatchery backgrounds. One of the chicks I am suspicious about still. It has more length on its tail feathers but just a hint of pink in the comb.
I realize that more time will help me discover the answers, but I’d like to rehome to them to a family who wants to raise chickens. Appreciate feedback! Thanks!
