So I thought it was hard to sex chicks but this is a bother!! Ha, ducks are very hard to sex let alone tell if you have true breeds.
I purchased hatching eggs from a local breeder and hatched out some Silver Appleyard's. But 3 looked to be the traditional coloring, and the other 3 looked almost like mallard markings.
Now I am confused as to how to sex them. I read that the hens should have a black bean on the tip of their bill. The ones I have with that are darker in overall color and have darker heads. Gosh I wish their was more info on these breeds. So now I don't know if I even have ducks Ha the internet is a crazy thing.
