Looked for info on sexing chicks without looking at the vent on YouTube. One guy said if you hold them upside down for a bit till they calm down girls will keep their legs in and boys will stick one or both legs out. Anyone ever heard of this? By this rule I've got 1 gen of 8... here is a link to the vid

That is not accurate. There are other such test that say if you hold a chick upside down a male with struggle and a hen will be Calm

Thanks! I really want layers to support my baking habit. And keep me company on my days off.

The only really reliable way to tell (besides getting an auto-sex breed or vent sexing) is to just wait and see
