We recently got our first set of chicks, and we were told they were pullets, but that there is no guarantee. I was wondering if there is any way to sex 2 week old chicks, as roosters are not allowed in our city. I just want to make sure that we have all females.

Thanks in advance. We are really new and trying to learn as much as we can!

Im in the same boat! Im going with two australorp and two red sex links (not worried about those two). The person I am getting from quoted me an 85% chance that they would be pullets, pretty good but I dont think you will really know until they are older. Luckily its still early enough in the season that if they do become roos there are still plenty of chicks available. And I know many of the smaller farm stores offer a pretty good exchange....we arent allowed to have roos either so Im in the same boat.
