I just got these three from my neighbor and she isn't sure if these are hens or not. She says they are about 6 weeks old. Can you help me out and tell me if these are pullets or cockreels. I have 3 cochins total. Thanks so much.

Well, the one in the first pic, the gray/red one, is a roo.

As for the other two, they are looking roo-ish, too, but I could be wrong. [IMG]

I'm thinking 3 roos if they are 6 weeks. BUT..... none of them seem to have the roo tail feathers like mine do at that age. Do you think they are pure???

I doubt they are pure. She has a lot of chix that are free range so it wouldn't surprise me if they were a mix, but she called them cochins and will lay blue eggs and she says they get big.

Well then there probably araucanas without the muffs. There rumpless so that could be what they are.

my cochin mix roo did not get tail feathers in until way later and the pullets. For sure the first pic is a roo. Second looks pulletish, and thrid looks rooish.

Quote:Well, cochins don't lay blue eggs, so they are cochin/EE mixes.
