Hello,
This is my first time with chicks as I’ve always had adult hens.
I think I may need to take some new pics. Tricky to take lol.
Anyways here are photos of 5 of Cuckoo Maran’s, 5 of my Ameraucana’s and the free chick that I call Sunday Special (I’m thinking boy).
Can anyone guess genders yet?
The chicks are 4 weeks today.
I hear some people say that if you get Ameraucana’s from the hatchery you are getting Easter Eggers and not purebreds. I’m not sure if I did or not, but I do know the Ameraucana’s I got were part of their Heritage breed program the hatchery offers. Could someone tell me if they look purebred? Just interesting to know.
Sorry about the quality. I’m thinking some are too blurry to tell.
Thank you!

I am just seeing a lot of comb and wattle for this age. On the Easter Eggers, patchy coloring and a triple rowed pea comb often indicates cockerel along with redness. On the Marans, the barring is on the lighter side, often indicating cockerel. I'm sorry ☹️
