I was researching Cuckoo Marans tonight and found out they can be sexed really young, Now I get to discover tomorrow how many roo's I have.

The lighter color chicks are roosters and the darker colored chicks are pullets. [IMG]

Color can be tricky with some breeding lines. Look at the barring on the wing and it is normally a dead give away. Well defined wide barring = male.

Mine seem to vary...sometimes it's very evident early on...other times it takes a little longer to see who's who. Once they really start feathering out tho it becomes obvious pretty quickly.
