We picked up our first chickens today, 3 USA brown chicks that are 7-8 days old. I'm wondering if anyone can please give me an idea of what gender they might be? Hopefully the photo works! [IMG]

Welcome to BYC. If they are ISA browns, and I am doubtful of that, they are cockerels. Pullets would be far more red in coloration. To me they almost look as if they might be Cornish X meat birds. Seasonal suppliers are notoriously great at misidentifying chicks. Hope that I am wrong on all counts.

I agree or maybe White Leghorns. You will be able to tell soon by body type.
