So a few days ago someone posted a silkie pic of a roo that was seven weeks old. You could see it was developing tiny waddles. I have 4 silkies that are 7 weeks old today and i am hoping for some input on them. Compared to the roo i saw here, they all look like girls. But i think the odds of that are slim. Since i have never had silkies before i wonder if i would be seeing changes by now? Is it too soon? What do Y'ALL think of the chicks? Any thoughts?

This one had a wicked vaulted skull so its head appears fluffier.

The next three look similar but are 3 different chicks. One had a slight vault.

    Wendy,
Do you see any waddles growing in ? That will tell you to if its a roo or not and sometimes if you feel the inside of the chicks leg and you feel a nub theres a good chance its a roo!!!
    Good Luck!

I do not see any waddles. At 7 weeks what would you guess would be the chances of that? Did you see the buff silkie posted here that i speak of? Those were very clearly there. Do you know how likely at this age i would see that? Do the girls get ANY waddles?

The nub is where the spur will grow.

They all look like girls to me! Don't worry--once I grabbed 6 silkie pullets from a straight run. [IMG]
