I'm planning to order some silkies (first time) for spring hatch. MPC offers sexing, but I know they come from Myer hatchery--which states they only offer them straight run. I've heard that sexing them is next to impossible--but I REALLY only want pullets. Should I just chance it and order straight run? And also--can I mix the banties with full size breeds if they are raised together from day one?

This is just my opinion, so take it for what its worth, but if you decide to order straight run, you should really consider buying locally, from a breeder. And, you MIGHT be able to find someone downsizing their flock for the winter and score a couple of hens.
