Greetings! So I did a straight run order of several breeds and of 16 chicks and sadly I ended up being able to really quickly weed out 13 roosters by 2 weeks. It’s amazinf how quickly some develop pink combs!
Of my black copper Marans, 5 of 7 were definitely Roos early on (the last two pics are of two week old combs - one definite roo, one hold and see (she’s actually #2 in the sexing pics
So I’m left with 2 Marans. Number 1’s comb looks girlish to me but she’s developing more pink waddle than chick #2. Both of them generally have a more relaxed stance and demeanor than in the pics but all of the chicks like to try to reach out and eat the phone, and everyone thought I was secretly hording meal worms.
I still believe they are both pullets as they had almost no comb when all of the clear boys were combed by 2 weeks. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!
