Hi everyone,

This is my first post so hello!

Our previous hens were taken by a fox about 10 weeks ago. After that happened we decided to incubate and hatch our own chicks so that our 4 children could understand and enjoy the experience. Out of 8 eggs, 7 hatched

2 x Vorwerk
2 x Buff Orpington
2 x Blacktail
1 x Barnevelder (sadly the other one didn’t hatch)

They’re now 4 weeks old and I know it’s a bit early but I was beginning to wonder which ones might be hens, so what do you think? I have my suspicions already...

Thank you and hope you like them!

They are young, but your barnevelder is definitely a boy. The second vorwerk, and the first red one may be too. Update in another 2 weeks.

Yes, I don’t think there’s any doubt about the Barnevelder! Thanks and yes, I’ll repost in a couple of weeks
