I got a couple of hens from Hertzler's Farm and Feed in Powhatan, Va and Mrs. Hertzler told me they were Sexsals. I cannot find anything on this breed. Has anyone heard of it? I saw one website that it was a cross between a White Rock and a Rhode Island Red but that was all i could find. Anyone have a clue as to what this is?

I told her I wanted a good layer and that's what she recommended...I'll post a pic when I can.

Thanks,

Lori

Sounds like she was saying "Sex-alls" or in other words. Sex-Links.

These birds are sex-linked. The females will be one color while the males will be another color. What color is your bird right now?

If it's red in color it's probably a Red Sex-link. If it's Black with a red front, it could be a black sex-link.

the one hatchery I order from has Sex-sal link browns, they say they go by many different names(like Isa brown, red stars, etc), so they are another type of red sexlink.
