My baby duck, a little less than a month old was found this morning shaking in the coop. She is having trouble standing up, won't eat and barely can drink water out of a dropper. She was not showing any symptoms yesterday. For some reason this duck was born with no down on chest with a small skin flap... no feathers have grown in. I have been feeding babies chicken starter with added flax, hemp and oats... also noticed mites on baby. Trying to figure out how her health deteriorated so quickly... any insights to what could be wrong?

Sprinkle DE on her for the mites. Put her under a heat lamp with food and water and maybe a flock mate. Are you putting brewers yeast on their food? They can get leg issues without it. You can purchase it on amazon. Keep us updated on baby’s condition, good luck!

DE unfortunately will not do anything for an active mite infestation, you're gonna have to pull out the big guns. Dust her down with Sevin dust or permethrin dust to kill the mites. Then you will need to clean out where she has been and dust it down as well, and repeat this in ten days. Any other birds she has been with will also need to be treated.

A large mite load could have caused her to become anemic, which definitely could cause the symptoms you are seeing. This is a serious emergency at this point, so you do need to act quickly. Mites can and do kill birds.

Separate her to a clean brooder with a source of heat to keep her warm, and give her fresh water with Nutri Drench added to it to drink. You may even want to give her a few drops of Nutri Drench directly into her bill to give her a boost.
