It's one of the colors I really want. I have a color gentics chart for chickens but haven't gone through to work it all out yet. I'm working on trying to get a sizzle with a mulberry walnut comb , not crested or booted. Once I can get 1 male and 1 female then get them 5 gems in to breed true I will start to look closer at color. For now I know lav is a true recessive with its own parking spot, but also needs I think the black suppressor present to show up.

All of my eggs in the incubator right now are pullet eggs, too. I've had good luck with pullet eggs in the past, I'm more concerned with the young rooster. My girls had been laying for 6 weeks when I started collecting. The eggs are about 3/4 the size of a grown hen's egg. I will do a full candle tomorrow to see how many make it into lockdown. I've candled a few along the way, and it's looking like about 70% fertility

By 6 weeks practice I would expect the hens to be getting right but I really wanted to know Amy's from her 100% hatch

In this day and age, just saying that the DH is a she doesn't clarify a thing

My first egg was laid March 29th and I set May 17th. So the hen that had been laying the longest was about 6-7 weeks (I collected eggs for one week before setting) and the last one was probably 4-5 weeks since I'm pretty sure all 5 started within 2 weeks give or take.

    Gotchya

I'm curious to see how many go into lockdown.
