She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Will be interesting to see what happens! Keep us posted!
I meant the "cracks"...they are not really cracks but I thought so till Ravyn explained they formed when the egg formed. I couldn't see your pic good so was just wondering if what you thought was a crack looked like my pic.
Ooooh, I gotcha! Sorry, I misunderstood what you. He wants you to hatch them for him!! That's what I did last spring. I hope it works out! Sorry, I thought you were just looking for pea eggs.
Ok, thank you. I will look into them for spring.
X4!!! Me too! Dang, I can't stand not having the incubator plugged in. Plus brinsea just sent back my one incubator that crapped out on hatch day.
Where will you brood them? Did you set any yet?? I'd really like to follow your hatch closely, when you do. So please let me know!
You REALLY got me!!! :gig

Haven't set them yet... since Lady Grey started laying, we found some eggs to be shipped... they'll get here either tomorrow or Sat... unfortunately I just saw they got routed thru Memphis... :/
If AmyLynn is fine with it, I'll post progress here, otherwise I can see about making a thread... up for votes to everyone on that???
Ducklings will be in the house, unfortunately... but with predators right now, better safe than sorry... but I'll be sorry within a week cleaning up after the little sh*t machines, lol...
Hey, if you can get pea eggs, let me know, please? Might be interested to try 'em... :)

So its probably safe to say the dark line is just the shell itself. I am probably being overly worried because this is the first time I have seen veins & movement in all my duck eggs. More so since I am parting with 2 of my drakes tomorrow.

Are you following AmyP's Frieda vs Brinsea thread? She posted pics of the Sulmtaler eggs she got from me last night... 3rd pic she posted is a clear example of a bloodring... might want to look so you'll recognize it if it happens...

Yes i did see it. Will keep an eye out for it

I've got the promised pictures of Monty. Crowing his little puberty voice away. Here you can see roughly his 'mullet'. It starts at the base of the neck and down his back. Also, is it possible to figure out which chicken laid which egg in a photo based on color? My girls are all mixed together but two of which are Dominiques and will make sex links with Sue. I was hoping I could spot the eggs by the color and try to focus on incubating them. The other girls are two GLW and two black Australorps. I was really hoping I didn't have to go out again and get components for the incubator... Especially since those smaller sockets look twice the price of the wide base ones I have on hand. We'll see if stubbornness or practically win out there. I guess it depends on if I have bolts and nuts in the garage....
He's very handsome!!! I :love him! I don't know about the eggs but Walnut taught me something awesome...you can paint the vent on certain hens, so that you know which eggs came from them! I have all mine together and it has to be that way for now but I only want to set eggs from 2 girls, this spring. So I'm definitely planning on looking into that for myself.

I'm definitely all for that! I really want to follow your hatch. So what eggs are coming in the mail? I can definitely get pea eggs in spring when they start laying. He might give them to me for free, if not I know he wouldn't charge me much. How many would you want? I would pack them, so I will follow your packing directions to a tee.

You're not supposed to admit that!!

Speaking of which, wasn't it you who said in here about a month ago that you were putting the incubator away until Spring?

Monty is gorgeous!! Looks Birchen... love the horns, lol... Food coloring in the vents to tell eggs apart...

Call eggs coming, mix of colors... if you can get them for free, as many eggs as you can pack, lol... OH would love to run a pea aviary along our property line... :lau

Nope... my incubator never gets put away... it's an established piece of furniture in our living room... :gig

Actually, I think chicapee said that... and pulled it back out... :lau

You're not the only one. What was I thinking? I have 10 runner ducklings that started out as eggs under my silkie hen. Some dummy (that would be me) forgot to get the eggs every day (and didn't mark them soon enough).

I have to say my silkie is an admirable mother. I keep adding the newly hatched to the rest with her. They are from 1 day to 2 weeks. I make sure they eat and don't get lost in the shuffle.

They are in my kitchen. I just keep cleaning them.
