I KNOW this picture is terrible. See the little blue hen in the back right? She has black legs, a single comb very close to her head. I swear if I didn't know better that she was a pigeon. She had a little tufted head as a chick and now she looks like this....anybody hazard a guess.

She's a bantam something, most likely a cross. I guarantee she'll turn out to be a better chicken than a silkie. Cute little thing.

    Does she have 5 toes?

She's a silkie cross. Her dad may have been a silkie roo and her mom a bantam of some sort. Look at it this way, you have an original. [IMG]

Weird...time to mention that to several websites. I checked the standard, and it says four toes...but a lot of people have them on lists that say five. [IMG]

I ended up with a EE x silkie (after I specified NO silkies [IMG] ) in my last batch of chicks. She is about 9 months old. She is the sweetest bird I have! She is smooth feathered with black legs, five toes, a black single comb, and a beard. She is also teeny tiny compared to the rest of my chickens. She is in love with our outdoor cat. She chases her around the yard. [IMG] She also loves to spar with the roosters.
