Hi friends. I just got to thinking and wanted to ask you all a question about chick shipping. Do your chicks usually come express or priority mail? I know we don't get to choose which one or if there is really even a difference between the two methods.I was just wondering how your chicks came? also is there even a difference between express and priority? if yes what?? Thanks in advance for your answers. you all are wonderful!

I ordered from Meyers Poultry in PA in Dec. they shipped priority...they shipped Monday, got to the post office on Wed. Sadly they all died on the trip. When the hatchery replaced them I begged and pleaded for them to send them express. They told me it would make no difference, that they take the exact same route and I'd be wasting my money. 3 different postal workers told me that was not true and that express is overnight. So I insisted Meyer send them express. I paid the extra money and said "just humor me! If it's a waste, then too bad for me." They agreed and guess what? They got here overnight! And all of them made it safely! So I recommend finding a hatchery that will send them express. Some of them will, some won't. And I've read the same thing that Meyers said about express being the same, but for me that was not true.

Yes, Express is overnight. I'm in CA too, I order from MPC and my chicks are always shipped express. I usually have them in my hands in 18 hours or less, haven't had a DOA or had one die right after shipping yet. They ship out Monday afternoon, I have them by 11:00 or noon on Tues. And I keep using MPC for that reason, I just don't want any hatchery shipping chicks to me any other way.

wow I was wondering because Meyers told me they WOULD be sending Express shipping.I'm pretty sure I paid for it because shipping was a bit over 50.00$ for 7 chicks. This is why I was wondering. I'm VERY greatful they choose express with me so far away and I felt they did have the chicks best interest in mind. I really hope they do get here over night!

I just double checked my invoice and where it says delivery it says " Ship Express" so I'm very greatful they are doing that. I did not have to ask. Thank God. I'm thinking because I'm so far away it's likely something they do because if it was shipped otherwise the chicks wouldn't have a chance at survivability.
